LY THAI TO PARK - A PEACEFUL STOPPING POINT IN DISTRICT 10
Explore Ly Thai To Park, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, and its symbol with special significance.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of Saigon, Ly Thai To Park in District 10 stands out as a tranquil haven. More than just a place for people to breathe fresh air, it also preserves and reminds people of the difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A place of lush green parks

At 1 Ly Thai To Street, Vuon Lai Ward, District 10, the park is beloved by locals. Its central location makes it a popular spot for all ages, from children and teenagers to adults and the elderly.
Since its opening in early 2026, Ly Thai To Park has offered spacious green areas and shady walkways, acting as a vital "lung" in the city’s heart.
Waterdrop Monument
Ly Thai To Park is not just an urban landmark, but also a work of art. And the highlight that gives the park its artistic value and meaning is the Water Droplet Monument located in the center, a symbol that reminds people of the Covid-19 pandemic.

-
The teardrop: The shape of the teardrop evokes tears, the sadness and loss that the Covid-19 pandemic brought to thousands of our compatriots, officials, and soldiers in Vietnam. And when Covid passes, those tears will be happiness and hope as the city is reborn, as life returns after those dark days.
-
The heart: Inside the teardrop is the image of a heart. This image symbolizes compassion, love, and the nation’s unity, overcoming all loss and suffering. And that heart is also the breath, the heartbeat of the city reborn after the hardships of the Covid-19 pandemic.
-
The surrounding water system: Surrounding the image of the teardrop is a system of water arranged in steps, from high to low, forming a circle, symbolizing the transformation of pain into positive energy. From loss, we find the strength to move towards a better future, where memories are not just sadness but also motivation.
-
Special material: The structure is crafted from polished mirror-finish stainless steel, intended to reflect the image of visitors. As a message: “Memories of difficult times are shared memories of the entire community. Each person, when looking at their reflection in the water, sees themselves as part of the story, and no one is alone in past losses.”
That drop of water is both a memory and a reminder that we have gone through loss together to find life again.

A pause to breathe and remember

With the pain and losses of the Covid-19 pandemic over, Saigon is once again bustling and vibrant. Images of adults exercising, elderly people strolling leisurely, and children happily playing in parks like Ly Thai To Street in District 10 are proof of the revival of a thriving metropolis after long periods of silence.

But what has passed will remain a part of the city's memory. And that memory is preserved at the Water Droplet Monument in Ly Thai To Park, so that everyone who visits feels as if they are stepping into a moment of silence. Silence to remember, to show gratitude, and to appreciate and be thankful for living a healthy and peaceful life.

When I visited the park, I felt both relieved and emotional. Relieved to see life return to normal, laughter echoing again. Emotionally, because the memories of those quiet days in the city remained, the pain was unforgettable. But above all, I felt a glimmer of hope: "Hope that we will learn to cherish peace, love each other more, so that each day is a day worth living".
Conclusion
As you can see, Ly Thai To Park is not only a green space in the heart of District 10, but also a place for us to remember and pay tribute to those who lost their lives during Covid-19. So if you happen to pass by Ly Thai To Park in District 10, don't forget to take some time to visit the Water Droplet Monument, a special symbol of this park.
