AN GIANG - THE LAND OF FAIRIES

Discover An Giang, the "land of fairy tales" in the Southwest of Vietnam.

In Vietnam, there are places whose very names spark curiosity and entice visitors. And An Giang is one of them, where the land, people, and cultural elements meet and harmonize, earning it the nickname "The Land of Fairytales."

Come to An Giang

Located in the far west of the Mekong Delta and bordering Cambodia along a border over 100km long, An Giang has a truly unique geographical setting.

It is a place of mountains, not just one or two peaks, but an entire majestic range rising amidst vast rice paddies. Around and between these undulating mountains flow the two branches of the Mekong River, the Tien River and the Hau River. Together, they create a captivating landscape of "stunning mountains and beautiful waters."

Besides its unique natural features, An Giang is also one of the regions in Southern Vietnam with a rich history and culture.

An Giang's culture is shaped by the long-standing coexistence of many ethnic groups such as the Kinh, Cham, Khmer, and Chinese. This intermingling has created a colorful cultural tapestry, where each community contributes to enriching the spiritual life of the land.

It is this unique geography and culture that have earned An Giang the nickname "The Land of Fairytales".

The land of fairy tales

An Giang is not only a fertile plain of the Hau River, but also a place where nature takes on majestic and poetic beauty. The rolling mountain ranges, lush green forests, and gentle river blend together to create a vibrant natural landscape: a fairytale setting unmatched anywhere else.

Prominent among these is Mount Cam, the highest mountain in the Mekong Delta, nicknamed the "Da Lat of the plains" due to its consistently cool climate year-round. From the summit, you can gaze into the distance, taking in the vast Hau River delta, where the green of rice paddies and villages blend into a peaceful scene.

Mount Cam is not only an ecotourism destination, but also deeply connected to spiritual life, with its ancient temples and legends of the Thất Sơn region.

And if you're looking for a different kind of space, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest will offer you absolute peace. Sitting in a traditional three-leaf boat, weaving through the small canals covered in green water hyacinths, you'll watch flocks of birds soaring, breathe in the cool, fresh air, and feel the faint scent of melaleuca trees in the breeze. It's a moment when you feel like you're dissolving into nature, finding tranquility and closeness to the earth and sky.

Furthermore, the beauty of the palm forests cannot be overlooked: a characteristic tree of the Thất Sơn region. Towering palm trees, with their broad canopies spreading like giant fans, create a scene that is both wild and poetic. In the late afternoons, when the golden sunlight falls on each leaf, the palm forest appears like a magical painting, making one feel as if they have wandered into a fairytale land.
